ADOPT A SHELF

“Adopt a shelf” in our food pantry, The Nook! Each partner is responsible for buying or collecting a product or products to donate regularly. 

Crisis Nursery

The Crisis Nursery and Owen’s House are two homes in residential neighborhood swhere we care for babies and young children for brief periods during family emergencies. This is the only program of its kind in our community. Volunteers are needed to help keep the home open 24/7. Shifts are generally two to four hours. All volunteers must complete an interview, orientation and background check and provide references.

HOST A DRIVE

Engage coworkers, friends, family, and classmates through hosting a food, toiletry, or clothing fundraiser! Simply collect the items, drop them off, and we will get them into the hands of those who need them. 

DROP OFF DONATIONS

We accept a variety of products through donations: food, toiletries, new or gently used clothing, household items, diapers, formula, and more. Check out our Donate page for more specifics. 

Host Homes

Host Home families are willing to house a runaway or homeless youth. Host Home stays range from one to 14 nights. Thorough background checks, a home visit and state certification must be completed in addition to ongoing training.

Other opportunties

The Center for Youth often needs volunteers for many specialized projects. Whether it be staffing a special event such as our Annual Gala or Fashion Week of Rochester, indoor projects such as painting or cleaning, outdoor projects such as mulching or gardening, or something else, The Center always has individual and group opportunities available!
